Job Description:
Morris School District 54 is seeking an experienced and motivated Food Service Director to oversee all aspects of the district’s school nutrition program. The Food Service Director will be responsible for administering and processing financial assistance applications and benefits, ensuring strict confidentiality and compliance with all applicable regulations and privacy standards. This position is responsible for ensuring that students receive nutritious, appealing meals in compliance with state and federal guidelines, while managing operations in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Service Management, Nutrition, or related field preferred
Minimum of 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience in food service, including supervisory responsibilities (school nutrition program experience preferred)
Knowledge of USDA meal patterns, reporting requirements, and Illinois State Board of Education nutrition program guidelines
Ability to work effectively with students and staff
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Dependable, punctual, and able to follow directions
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage budgets and multiple sites effectively
Valid Driver’s License
Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and direct the district’s food service program, including menu development, purchasing, and inventory control
Ensure compliance with all USDA, state, and local health and nutrition regulations
Supervise, train, and evaluate food service staff across the district
Manage departmental budget and maintain accurate financial records
Coordinate food preparation and delivery to multiple school sites as applicable
Work collaboratively with administrators, staff, and vendors to support student health and wellness initiatives
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and customer service in all cafeterias
Oversee kitchen equipment care, repair, and replacement as needed
Perform other duties as directed by the Superintendent
Benefits and Compensation:
$23-$26 per hour based on experience
200 day position

Morris School District 54 is seeking a reliable, friendly, and team-oriented Cafeteria Worker to join our Food Service team. This position plays an important role in creating a positive lunch experience for students while ensuring cafeteria operations run smoothly. Qualifications:
Previous food service or cashier experience is helpful but not required
Ability to lift 35 pounds
Duties:
Operating the computer register during lunch periods
Supervising students in the lunchroom to maintain a safe, respectful environment
Assisting with cafeteria set-up and clean-up
Supporting food preparation and kitchen duties as needed
Collaborating with other staff to maintain a clean and organized work area
Fill in for Meal Delivery Driver as needed
Perform other duties as directed by the Food Service Director and/or Administration
Position is Part Time during the school year
$15/hour
Hours: 11:15am-2:15pm

We are looking for a responsible Custodian to join our Custodial team. This indivudial will be essential in maintaining and protecting our facilities. The external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants. It is important for a Custodian to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role focused on building upkeep. They will have physical endurance and the ability to lift 50lbs. A keen eye for detail and diligence are also imperative in this role. Full Time: 2:00pm-10:30pm Pay: $20.00 per hour Benefits Eligible: Yes

Utilize insecticides to prevent infestation by dangerous pests
Perform minor repairs (ex: change lightbulbs, fixing door handles, minor leaks etc.)
Report major damages and oversee repairs
